Spring Storytime




Registration for storytimes has begun. There are programs available for ages 15 months to 6 years.
  • Babies-n-Books is offered on 4 Mondays at 10:00 a.m. beginning March 8, for 15 month olds to 30 month olds and adult care givers. Each interactive half hour session includes books, musical movement, finger plays, and lots of rhythmic bouncing fun to involve the very young in this special early learning opportunity. Register
  • Toddler Time, designed for children ages 2½ to 3 accompanied by an adult, will be held on Wednesdays in March at 10:40 a.m. or 12:40 p.m. or in April at 9:30 a.m. or 10:40 a.m. Each forty-minute session includes age-appropriate stories and a theme-related craft for each adult and child to make together. Registration required and limited to one four-week series only. March / April
  • Preschool Storytime for children ages 4 to 6 will be held on 6 Tuesdays beginning March 9 at 10:40 a.m. or 12:40 p.m. Each thirty-minute session includes theme-related stories and literacy activities. Register

Chess KnightChess Knight Library Chess Tournament

Youth in grades K to 8 are invited to compete in the 2010 Murrysville Community Library Chess Tournamemt. The Junior Division is open to players in grades K to 4 and the Senior Division is open to players in grades 5 through 8. Tournament play begins at 9:45 a.m. and will continue throughout the day until there is a winner in each division. Register Here. Each player receives a certificate and the first, second and third place winners in each division will be awarded trophies.

Scholastic BookFlix is the online literacy resource that pairs classic video storybooks with related nonfiction. This engaging resource for children in grades pre-K through 3 will help early readers develop and practice essential reading skills and introduce them to a world of knowledge and exploration.
