Ten ideas to do at home with some of the items you found in the “I SPY AT MY HOUSE” display.

  1. Draw a picture with a pencil.
  2. Use markers to color your drawing.
  3. Cut duct tape in different lengths to make a geometric mosaic design on paper. Then color in the empty spaces with crayons or markers. Be a modern artist.
  4. Use a measuring tape to measure five different objects in your home. Guess before you measure how long or wide the object is.
  5. Use the battery as a reminder to guess how many objects in your home need a battery to run.
  6. Take a flashlight and look under your bed to see how many things are hidden there.
  7. Don’t throw a golf ball, but roll it on the floor or outside five different times and measure how many feet it rolled with the measuring tape. Add these numbers together.
  8. Write or draw a picture of three things you did today in a memo book or pad of paper. Read your ideas to a grown-up.
  9. Learn about raisins, where they are grown, how they are made, and what foods contain them. Draw a picture using the raisin shape for people and add arms, legs, hands, feet, and much more. Draw something fun for your raisin person to do on your paper. Use your imagination.
  10. Twist pipe cleaners, string, yarn, or wire into interesting shapes, letters, or objects.
