Hello friends!
The Murrysville Community Library is excited to share that we’ve officially reached the first major milestone of our Adult & Teen Room Renovation.
This week, we cleared furniture from the main library floor to prepare the space for the next phase of work. With help from Two Men and a Truck, our team coordinated the careful removal and transportation of shelving, tables, seating, and other large furnishings from the renovation footprint. Many of these items found a new home at the Jeannette Public Library.
This clear-out is the first visible step in a larger project focused on creating a more modern, functional, and welcoming environment for adult and teen patrons. By emptying the main floor area, we are preparing for upcoming layout changes, infrastructure improvements, and the installation of new furnishings, including three quiet study rooms.
What does this mean for patrons?
During this stage, the main floor is closed to the public for safety and to allow work to move forward efficiently. The good news is that you can still access many of the materials that normally live on the main floor.
Available in the Conference Room:
- Adult New Books (Fiction & Non-fiction)
- Large Print (New, Fiction & Non-Fiction)
- Teen New Books
- WIRC (both MS and HS)
- Teen Graphic Novels
- The Current Newspapers
- Current Magazines
The Children’s Room will remain open as usual. Programming will still take place in the conference room, with select groups reassigned to new locations. Please stop by the front desk and our staff will be happy to point you in the right direction to meet all your library needs.
Clearing out the main floor is a huge “first step” moment. It’s the point where planning turns into action. We are so grateful to Two Men and a Truck for helping us move efficiently and safely so that we can keep momentum going.
We will continue sharing updates as the renovation progresses, including what to expect during each stage, and how services may shift temporarily so we can keep library access as smooth as possible.
This project was financed in part by a grant from the U. S. Department of the Treasury, under the administration of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority.
