October Craft-Kits: “Ceme-Terrariums”

Description:
 Calling all adults, teens, families, ghouls, and goblins! Get your hands dirty and relive the spooky joy of childhood Halloweens with these “Ceme-Terrariums”. This is a fun craft that includes real potting soil, so you can plant succulents, herbs, venus fly traps, or any other plant you can think of. Free to take while supplies last!

Recurring Programs

AAUW: All programs of the AAUW are offered in partnership with the Murrysville Community Library and are open to the public.  Programs typically begin at 9:30 a.m. *AAUW will resume in September 2021.


Art Talks – East Suburban Artists League: Each month the East Suburban Artists League features one of their artists through an exhibit in the Library.  Some artists choose to give an art talk and discuss their work, while others are simply content for visitors to appreciate their art on display.

Author Events: Throughout the year the Library will host various authors to speak on their work, share their techniques, and explore diverse topics.

Book Club – Tuesday Afternoon: The Tuesday Afternoon Book Club meets at the Murrysville Community Library every third Tuesday from 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM. The Tuesday Afternoon Book Club reads a wide variety of titles that inspire passionate discussion among group members. *Tuesday Book Club is meeting on the third Tuesday at 2pm until further notice.

Book Club – Thursday Morning: The Thursday Morning Book club meets at the Murrysville Community Library from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM on the third Thursday of each month. *Thursday Book Club is meeting on the third Thursday at 11am until further notice.


Library Knitters: If you’re interested in learning how to knit or in honing your craft, we have a group for you!  Bring your craft of choice and share in stimulating conversation and crafting, and advance your knowledge of the craft.  No registration required. Meetings are held every other monday from 10:00 AM -12:00 PM in Conference room #1. *The meeting on October 11th will be held at Veteran’s Pavilion due to a library closure. Please check back later for additional meeting dates.


Plant-based Nutrition Group: The Plan-based Nutrition Group is a group of like-minded individuals who meet monthly at the Murrysville Community Library.  The meeting is open to anyone interested in learning and sharing information about healthy plant-based food choices.  Meetings are the last Wednesday of each month, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.  There are also the occasional Saturday meetings at 1:00 p.m. for those that are new to the plant-based lifestyle. *The meeting schedule for Saturday, August 28th has been canceled.  Please check back later for additional meeting dates.


Socrates Café: Socrates Café is an affiliate of the Society for Philosophical Inquiry.  New members are always welcome; we believe a diversity of opinion is important for a true exchange of ideas. Registration is not required, but it is recommended to check the calendar for any date changes. *The next meeting will be on Sept 13th at 7-8:30 pm on Zoom. This will be a virtual meeting.
